Things to Do in the Twin Cities

The Minneapolis Institute of art (aka the “MIA”) is a beautiful art museum showcasing classic pieces and is one of DeLane’s favorite museums. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged!

Lake of the Isles is located in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. We love walking around the lake and spent a lot of time here during the first few years of our relationship! There’s a great spot for cinnamon buns here called Isles Buns and Coffee.

The Walker Art Center is a contemporary art museum in Minneapolis. It’s located next to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, which is a quintessential Twin Cities landmark. This is where you can see the classic spoon and cherry sculpture!

The Twin Cities has over 400 miles of connected bike paths, making it one of the most bike-friendly urban areas in the United States!

A historic, quintessential landmark in Minneapolis, offering stunning views of the Mississippi River and downtown skyline. It’s a great spot for walks, bike rides, and photos. Currently under restoration so only a portion of the bridge is open.

St. Anthony Main is a charming riverside district known for its cobblestone streets, historic buildings, a lively mix of restaurants, bars, and the iconic St. Anthony Main Theatre. Situated right next to Stone Arch Bridge.

Bde Make Ska is a lake located in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. We spent a ton of time here together during the first few years of our relationship, and it’s a cool spot to rent kayaks. No trip to the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” is complete without visiting a lake! This is another great spot for a walk.

The Twin Cities has a fantastic theater scene. The Guthrie and Orpheum are some of the most famous theaters in Minneapolis.

Minnehaha Regional Park is a large, historic park in Minneapolis that boasts an iconic 53 ft waterfall. It’s a great park to stroll through or enjoy a picnic in!

Minnesotans love ice cream, even in the heart of winter, so there are many delicious ice cream shops throughout the Twin Cities!
